Letter to the expectant parents

Dear Friend,
There are times in life when you don’t know what to say or at least you are unsure of how to express what you feel. All we can express to you is our love and gratitude. You have been faced with hard decisions, some of which have and will continually change your life. Your choice to consider adoption for your child is a huge sacrifice and while it is not easy for you, we thank you for the choice you are making. May you be blessed for the love and care that you are showing your child.
Our hope is that you may feel some comfort as we tell you a little about ourselves.
McCoy and Oaklee both came into our family through the gift of adoption. Adoption has changed who we are and how we view the world. We find great joy in teaching our children about where they came from and the great love that their birthmothers have for them.
The emotions we felt when our children were placed in our arms were both amazing and heartbreaking. We hurt so much for our children’s birthmothers, and at the same time we admire them so deeply. We have witnessed firsthand what amazing love birthmothers have for their babies, and the cost of putting what you want for your child first before your own wants.
As we reflect on our adoption stories, we are continually reminded of our Heavenly Fathers love for each of his children and his foresight into our lives as he helps each of us return to him. At each step of the process we have felt his continual guidance and direction. We hope and pray that Heavenly Father will guide you as you search for an eternal family for your baby. We pray that you will be strengthened and comforted in knowing that your child will be raised in a kind and loving home.
