McCoys Adoption Story

Photobucket
Just as we finished our adoption paperwork and were approved in February of 2007 we had a distinct feeling we needed to move. The Lord sent us to Montana of all places, but He knew what he was doing, and we were doing our best to follow His promptings. Almost 3 months after we moved away from our family and friends and away from our home state where we were born and raised, we received a call from our case worker that a young lady chosen us to adopt her baby. We were given her phone number and name and we called her a couple of days later. After speaking with her we knew that this was the reason we were supposed to move to Montana. C* (McCoy's Birthmother) lived just an hour away, and we were able to spend alot of time with her in the five months before McCoy was to be born. McCoy was born in December of 2007. We were able to be at the hospital when he was born and were able to hold him when he was just 30 minutes old. Our experience at the hospital with McCoy, C and her family was something we will never forget. We witnessed some very tender and sacred moments that witnessed to us that we were all brought together out of love. C* and McCoy were released from the hospital just 25 hours after he was born and we were able to take McCoy home. The next six months we were able to visit with C* at least once a month. When McCoy turned six months we were able to finalize McCoy's adoption one day before we were to move back to Oregon. And two months after that we had McCoy sealed to us in the Portland, Oregon Temple. We were lucky enough that McCoy's Birthmother and her parents were able to come to the Temple on that day and McCoy's Birth Grandparents were able to attend the sealing. We have been able to recognize the Lord's hand in every step of McCoy's adoption, he was truly meant for our family. And his Birthmother is a very important part of our lives and we continue to keep in contact with her. We talk to McCoy about C* all the time and we pray for her everyday.
